"Peculiarly distinguished among the advance guard, where all were distinguished, must be recorded . . . Private J. W. Brown, of Company F, First Georgia Regiment, who, upon hearing the order to fall back, exclaimed, 'I will give them one more shot before I leave,' and while ramming down his twenty-ninth cartridge fell dead at his post." - General Henry R. Jackson in his report of the Battle of Greenbrier River.

Time to say goodbye...

My book, "I Will Give Them One More Shot: Ramsey's 1st Regiment Georgia Volunteers" was originally published by Mercer University Press in 2011, and has had a very long run. To make room for the multitude of new books that MUP will be publishing, "One More Shot" will be discontinued. I want to thank Director Marc Jolley and the entire staff at the press for their kindness and enthusiasm for my work. Having had an ancestor in this regiment, this was very much a labor of love, and I am grateful to MUP for helping me fulfill my dream to become a published author. I would also like to thank the multitude of people who assisted me in researching this story.
